Beggar & Co were formed in 1981 by Kenny Wellington, “Breeze” McKreith and David Baptiste as an offshoot of an earlier band, Light Of The World. The music represents the love of Jazz Funk and the influences that shaped the development of Brit Funk. They acknowledge influences that came from the great self contained bands of the genre such as Kool & The Gang, Fatback Band and Brass Construction
